A soiree' is an evening party or gathering, typically in a private house, for conversation or music.
You do not have to rent an event venue to have a smashing party. You can very well have a soiree' at your home or a nice rented private house that is just as successful as renting a venue. When using a private home, a soiree' can give the sense of comfortableness and intimacy for conversation or music. Because you are the host, the soiree' order is entirely up to you. You can have a social meet and greet for 30 minutes to an hour with soft music playing giving your guests time to arrive and meet before dinner is served....Then you can serve dinner adding nice conversation. After dessert is served, you and your guests can then go back to the sitting area and have continued conversation over drinks.
Here are some decorating, catering and fashion tips to help you put together a great soiree' event.
Let's start with the table setting shall we.....

Let's start with the table setting shall we.....
This beautiful pink and gray/silver table setting is perfect for a private soiree' with family and friends. It's also inexpensive and the items can be purchased at Party City.
This soiree' table setting is more for the intimate crowd. A soiree' can be any size that you want as long as you have great company and good music. This display is more on the elegant, candlelight dinner side with a personal plate setting (could be good china), tea lights, table decor and champagne glasses. Stylishly done!
This table setting is done more on the creative side. Since there is not a plate setting displayed, we can safely say that the dinner is being served either buffet style or the host decided to have the wait staff only bring the plates out right before dinner is served. Remember, as the host you have the option to have the show run anyway that you would like it to. The napkins shown here are creatively folded and placed in a fan like design. The centerpiece is simple with basic cylinder vases with flowers. Simple but nice!
This soiree set up is for multiple guests. When having multiple guests dining together, it's a great idea to prepare a seating chart to make sure everyone that you invited has a seat and everyone gets along. This is a simple but nice setting.
This table setting is for 10 guests and since it is a round table, depending on how big the space in your home is, you can have another table the same size for 10 additional guests.
Lastly, this setting is beautifully elegant. The color coordination is very creative and nicely put together. This ensemble is for a more dressier crowd. Even though a soiree' can be done in a private home, it still can be a dressy and formal event.
Now it's time for the food......Mmmmm.....
You can either host your soiree' dinner by buffet style, or hire a wait staff to serve your guests. If you prefer having your guests served by a wait staff and you want to cut costs...you can ask a family member or members to dress the part and serve the food. Depending on the size of your soiree' will determine how many waiters/waitresses that you will need. Some hosts prefer buffet style to make it simpler. You can have the guests serve themselves or your caterers can serve the buffet.

Now time for the desserts...Yummy!
Now that we have the main key points of a soiree' together everything else should become a little simpler. Make sure that you choose the right kind of music that fits your crowd. During the meet and greet you would want to have the music playing low and softly in the background. Invitations should have "Soiree" somewhere on them and the type of dress attire should be included. It's also totally up to the host whether they want to give the guests small favor gifts before they leave.
Once all of your planning is done....You will still have to pick the perfect outfit to go with your decor and the type of soiree' that you want to have.
